Deerfield attorney Bob Morgan announced Thursday that he’s running as a Democrat for the Illinois House seat now held by State Rep. Scott Drury (D-Highwood).
Morgan announced his bid to represent the 58th District the day after the Illinois House of Representatives adjourned without passing a state budget.
“It’s been more than 700 days without a budget and it’s time for someone to stand up for the values of our community, make changes and begin fixing the problem,” said Morgan, a health care policy attorney.
Morgan has worked on health care reform and Medicaid expansion while holding positions in state government. He served as the first statewide project coordinator for the Illinois Medical Cannabis Pilot Program.
